Grey Matter Opening Rewrite
I used to be able to think. My brain's circuits were all connected and I had a spark, a quickness of mind that let me function well in the world. There were no problems with numbers or abstract reasoning; I could find the right word, could hold a thought in mind, match faces with names, converse coherently in crowded hallways, learn new tasks. I had a memory and an intuition I could trust.
I was once capable of reasoning. My cerebrum's wiring stood united and I exhibited flare, a swiftness of intellect that permitted me to operate comfortably on Earth. There existed no conundrums with digits or complex analysis; I had the ability to locate the proper term, had the ability to possess an idea internally, pair countenances with titles, confer understandably in packed passages, master novel duties. I boasted a cognizance and an insight I could rely on.
